Consulting Career Community

The Consulting Career Community is a collaboration of the BU MBA Consulting Association, the Feld Career Center and faculty in every academic department, which aims to prepare Boston University MBA students to become competitive consulting professionals “with all of the skills and none of the attitude.”

Erik Molander is the faculty advisor for the Consulting Career Community, and an Executive-In-Residence in the Strategy and Innovation Department at BU. We strongly encourage you to get to know Erik and share your career interests because he is a wealth of information and creative ideas. His areas of expertise include: entrepreneurship, strategy, corporate finance, international finance, global management and new product / venture development.

Erik Molander is Managing Director of Mentor Capital Partners Inc., an investment banking and management consulting firm with principle offices in Boston, Baltimore and Fairport CT.  Mr. Molander and his partners focus on serving clients that are in the commercialization stage of development but before the first round of institutional capital (venture capital) by providing access to capital, mentoring and expert advice on business feasibility and the “go to market” plan.  His principal clients are in high technology, consumer electronics, marketing services, and media services.

Prior to founding Mentor Capital, Erik was a consultant with top tier management consulting firms.  He has been the Director of Information Industrial practice for Adventis, Inc. and Practice Leader of the Global Industrials Practice for the Mitchell Madison Group (marchFIRST).  In these roles he served clients in the consumer electronics, telecommunications, biotechnology, sensor and semiconductor industries among others.
