Reaching Out is the annual conference of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) graduate business school students. This year, 1,000 students, business leaders, and recruiters will gather from October 18th thru October 20th at the Seaport Hotel World Trade Center

If you have completed your $99 registration, you can qualify for a $35 reimbursement. To get a reimbursement, you MUST fill out this form.

Cohort Q has donated over $150 to the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Funds were donated by students at BU and will go toward fighting LGBT homelessness.

According to the Task Force, there are 1.6 million homeless youth, 20 to 40 percent of whom identify as LGBT. This percentage is significantly higher than the 3 to 5 percent of all individuals in the country who identify as LGBT.

Many LGBT individuals face the prospect of homelessness for reasons outside their control. 26 percent of gay teens that come out to their parents will be told to leave home. Others will leave because of abuse.

2009 Conference in Atlanta!

Reaching Out MBA 2009 will be held at the Westin Peachtree in Atlanta, GA, October 15 – 18, 2009.  The conference will be hosted and organized by Emory Goizueta, Duke Fuqua, Georgia Tech College of Management, and UNC Kenan-Flagler. If you need information about the conference, please contact info@ReachingOutMBA.org. Keep checking the Reaching Out website for updates.

This event has always been well attended by Boston University students. Check with the Cohort Q officers regarding funding to help with the attendance costs.

Reaching Out Pre-Party: As a part of the Reaching Out conference, they set up numerous “pre-party” nights in cities across the country. Boston will definitely be apart of it. We will keep you posted on when and where our Reaching Out Pre-party will be location. Note: You do not have to attend the conference to attend the pre-party.
